Lebanese MP slams Arab govts for encouraging terrorists in Syria

Beirut, April 16, IRNA – Lebanon's Member of Parliament Marwan Faris said on Monday that certain Arab leaders have forwarded huge amount of weapons and money to encourage terrorist operations against the Syrian government

Marwan Faris told IRNA that certain Arab leaders are working at the behest of Washington and the Zionist regime against the governments opposing Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

The Lebanese MP said that the Arab states have flooded weapons and money to Syria to encourage terrorism against Syria's legitimate government.

'By supplying the terrorists with arms and money, they attempted to sabotage UN envoy Kofi Annan's peace plan in Syria.'

He criticized the Turkish and Arab governments in the Persian Gulf for signing agreement with the United States to deploy missile systems against neighboring states, calling for revision of the pact.

'Deployment of the US missile system will serve the goals of Tel Aviv regime,' he said citing a statement of US President Barack Obama that the US supports the Israeli interests in the Middle East.

Faris said that the US conspiracies against Iran, Syria and Iraq are doomed.

He lashed out at the US for its unconditional support for the occupying regime of Israel and its illegitimate goals in the Middle East.
